Recreational

Spotlight Dance Company's recreational program is offered to dancers who love taking dance class primarily for its social, educational and health benefits. Recreational dancers will gain social skills, confidence and acceptance while learning from qualified and passionate dance teachers.

Our recreational classes offer something for everyone who wants to have the opportunity to grow as a dancer, without the higher commitment level of competitive dance. We ensure that each dancer will benefit from this program as class sizes will be limited. With younger students it is easier for the teacher to maintain control over the class and make sure each student understand the concepts and instructions.

Our smaller class sizes ensure that no fundamental concepts are being missed. After improving technique and style all year, dancers will have the opportunity to perform on stage in our year end dance recital.

Pre-Competitive

Spotlight Dance Company's pre-competitive dancers will be part of a team that will consist of more advanced dancers who love to perform and compete in a positive and fun environment.

These dancers will learn key skills such as team work, time management and how to remain positive in a competitive environment. The team will be trained to fully apply their talents as dancers and to possibly pursue a dream of becoming a part of the professional world of dance. As a pre-competitive dancer, there will be specific mandatory classes to be taken and regular attendance is a must. The pre-competitive program will involve less hours than the full time competitive program, along with the opportunity to compete at two dance competitions every year.

Spotlight's pre-competitive team will be divided into three levels that will consist of the Junior Team, The Intermediate Team and the Senior Team. Dancers will be placed in a class according to age, ability and experience. Dancers interested in joining Spotlights pre-competitive team will first have to audition at the beginning of the dance season.
